"Park Attendant says" or "ride the train"- no prep needed- great games for last minute

Park Attendant Says
(No Prep needed)

  • Explain the importance of following rules in an amusement park
  • Change leaders often, allowing children opportunities to call out actions.
  • Mention that children obey God,  just like they obey the Park attendant.
Ride the Train
Train Whistle (optional)-
No advanced Prep needed
  • Choose a player to be the "Train Conductor"
  • Lead the other kids to form a line behind the train conductor. Instruct them to do the same movements and the same sounds as the conductor.
  • Tell the conductor to lead the "train"  around the playing area, making motions such as hands on his head, arms in the air, arms to his side, hands clasped together, clapping and so forth." Also guide him to make different train sounds, such as a train whistle, "Choo-Choo", "all aboard" or say the Bible Verse, or parts of it.
  • Ask the train conductor to become the caboose and move to the end of the line after he has led 3 motions.  The next child in line will become the new conductor.
  • Play until each child has had an opportunity to be the conductor.
Options:
  • Form several trains by dividing the kids into groups, Blow a train whistle  (either real, or pretend), when it is time for train conductor(s) to switch positions.
  • Call out various rides and sights the kids might see as they ride a theme park train. Include things like a rollercoaster, carousel, ice cream stand or petting zoo.
